Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Becoming: Private Journal handles journal entries, moods, photos, settings, biometric lock, support messages, and future product changes.
What the app stores on your device
The current version stores journal entries, moods, streak information, favorites, settings, and attached photos on your device. Utilities Studio does not collect the journal content you write in the current version of the app.
- Journal text is used to show, edit, and organize entries inside the app.
- Mood selections are used for mood history and simple insight views.
- Favorites, categories, timestamps, and streak data are used to make the journal easier to review.
- Attached photos are used only inside the entries where you add them.
What the app does not do
Becoming does not sell personal information and does not include third-party advertising trackers in the app. The app is designed as a private journaling surface, not a public feed or advertising product.
- No public profile is created for your journal.
- No social feed is built from your entries.
- No ad network receives journal content from the current app.
Photos and camera
Photo library access is requested only when you choose to attach a photo to an entry. Camera access is requested only when you choose to take a photo for an entry. You can manage these permissions in your device settings.
Biometric lock
Biometric lock uses your device authentication system, such as Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint, or the local biometric method available on your device. Becoming does not receive or store biometric templates.
- The device performs biometric authentication.
- The app receives only the authentication result needed to unlock the journal.
- You can turn biometric lock on or off in the app settings when supported by your device.
Support messages
If you email support, Utilities Studio receives your email address and whatever information you choose to include. You should not include journal content in a support message unless you want support to see it.
- Useful support details include device model, operating system version, app version, and the screen where the issue happened.
- Screenshots can help diagnose UI issues, but only send screenshots that you are comfortable sharing.
Deleting app data
Because the current version stores journal data on your device, deleting the app, resetting your device, or removing local app data may delete entries and attached photos. Keep this in mind before deleting or reinstalling the app.
Future sync and policy updates
Cloud sync is planned for a future version. If sync is introduced, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures will be updated before that version is released. Sync will be introduced with clear controls and updated information about account data, synced content, retention, and deletion.
Children
Becoming is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has contacted Utilities Studio with personal information, email [email protected].
